“If it is to be, it is up to me!” As I walked into U.S. History my freshman year of high school, I read this quote each day not realizing how it would eventually connect to my teaching career. Here at OSC we provide each student the opportunity to succeed as a learner in a variety of ways. This success begins with learning first who they are as learner. My role as an advisor for Ouisconsing School of Collaboration is to help each student understand who they are as a learner and provide for them the necessary skills and tools to help meet their individuals goals.
Prior to OSC I attended Concordia University Wisconsin-Mequon where I obtained my degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Social Studies. While pursuing my degree I coached Girls Varsity Hockey for four seasons at the University School of Milwaukee. During my time as assistant coach we competed in several sectional championships and I had the opportunity to coach at the State Championships my final year with USM. Coaching hockey is something I truly enjoy and as I’ve moved back to the area it’s been fun get back on the ice and assist with coaching U-6 hockey players in Sauk Prairie.
When not at OSC or on the ice coaching hockey my husband and I enjoy spending time on Lake Wisconsin with family and friends. Often times before the fog lifts in the morning we try our luck in our fishing boat with our chocolate lab Gauge searching for bluegills and crappies.More times than not we have a fish story or two to tell after! Most recently, we have taken on several new home projects as we prepare for the arrival of our first child in September.
Lodi is a beautiful community and I am proud to be an advisor at the Ouisconsing School of Collaboration. Allowing students to have a voice in their education while preparing them for their future is what I enjoy most about OSC!
